Driver's Door Lock Not Responding
My driver's side door lock is not responding to ANY of the automated locking mechanisms: speed related, remote, OR inside lock button. I can unlock with the door handle, or with the key, but it will not function otherwise.
Is this an easy fix, or am I stuck with taking it to a dealer?

My passenger side door lock in my 99 Disco II gave up on me. I have tackled the repair yet but I am told that there is probably a solenoid in the mechanism that needs to be replaced (?????)
II2go, the latch is an assembly, no serviceable parts. DI 's had separate solenoids. You have to pull the door glass frame out to replace it. It's not fun, you'll see[&:]
Getting to the place to look at is a pain. With time and a cold one. (only one) it can be done. gaining access to evaluate the problem is the tough part. I could be as simple as a loose or corroded connection. I you go for lay out your parts in the way they came out. Make putting it back together easier. digital/other pictures help. Make sure you secure the window in the closed position when working inside the door. duct take it good. Just some thoughts. Hope it helps. Gotta love a rover. duboff
Sounds like ajob for one of those lazy saturdays with nothing else going. It's a 2000 Disco II. Would I have to take the whole door panel off? If so, is it just held on with clips?
