Default Drivers Door Lock Won't Turn

I could not find a post regarding this exact problem so I figured I would post for help.
2002 Land Rover Discovery II and the Key will not turn to lock/unlock the drivers side door. My FOB had not worked for about 6 months (figured BCU) so I have just been using the key. I can lock and unlock all of the doors using the central locking switch inside on the dash. I can manually lock and unlock also. Its just that the Key in the door will not turn. I bought a drivers door handle pin on ebay thinking that was the part needed only to find that was not it.
Any help with what to buy next would be appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

I had the same problem, with mine it was because LR still used those ****ting wafers instead of tumblers in there locks.
I removed the door handle, and removed lock cylinder and pulled the wafer that a dislodged out, that was 12 months ago.

Did you remove the door panel to get to the lock cylinder or were you able to get to it from the front? Also, did you replace the wafer that was sticking or just remove it?
Thanks

I just removed it, actually two of them.
I think you have to take the panel off only a couple of screws, I think there is a screw in the door jam also.
also the handle will not pull straight out, if I remember correctly you have to open the handle and slide the whole thing forward, it sits in a slot in the outer door panel.

Default Thanks

I found myself in this situation yesterday and read this thread as a guest this morning, after trying every local dealer, scrap yard and guy salmon main stealers to locate a replacement lock barrel.
To be honest it took me longer to gain access to the vehicle than it took to follow the advice offered in this thread and complete the job.
So thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread including the original poster, without which I would still be scratching my head.
