That works. Unplug abs sensor. No need to separate hub from shaft. I like 1000 grit paper or 000steel wool to do a final smooth polish before lube and fit.

Okay. So there's no super secret voodoo required to get the axle shaft back in?

If it doesn't fall into place, Slightly turn it, teeth will easily line up and you will feel it. Pie.
May have to slightly turn opposing wheel since you are not divorcing hub, but still...pie.

Well I just ordered the rear hub from Rovers North along with a new serp belt and idlers. The hub will hold together until the new one arrives. It wasn't bad taking it apart and putting it back together. It will be easier yet when the new one arrives after having it apart once.
