Hey all
The rear tab that is fastened to the front drives window tray (Metal that holds the window) then bolst to the regulator has separated from the tray.
Has anyone just cleaned the area up and spot welded the tab back on to the tray?
I know this is close to the glass so a chance of it breaking is present.
Either I did not explain it right or most wouldn't put a spot weld on there?
I get what you want to do is reattach the tab on the window lift channel.
One problem you face is normally if the tab is rusted enough to break away you won't have enough metal to weld to the channel.
SUX, but I believe the lift channel on the DII is not sold separately like on the DI ( # ALR8022 ). I hope I'm wrong.
Either way if you weld it and the channel tab doesn't hold or the glass breaks you are off to ebay for a replacement glass w/ channel for under $100.00 ( SEARCH: CUB102710 )

Correct
It is not sold separately. The tab looked in pretty good shape but I had yet to look at the "tray" part.
So is the window glued into the tray? Mine was rusted like yours was rusted. I know there is a rubber insert but I bought a Disco 1 tray that fits snugly on the window, but I intend to glue it in place, and spot weld the tabs on the tray. TIA
