Default Driveshaft Vibration

I have a new driveshaft that causes a vibration between 30-45. I have new tires and new rotors and pads. The driveshaft has been balanced and re-balanced. Should I change the rear driveshaft rotorflex coupling? Could that be the problem? Please let me know your thoughts.

thanks!

Phil

Not cool. Is the driveshaft installed with the single u-joint at the front axle? All joints free and greased? Is the slip-joint well greased? As for the rear roto-flex, when I replaced mine along with the center bushing it did smooth out the driveline. Make sure you do the bushing! If you skip that step, you are wasting your time. Not fun to remove, but here's how it's done: Rear Prop Shaft Bush - Land Rover Forums : Land Rover and Range Rover Forum

What year is the truck, how many miles on it, are there any cracks in the rear rotoflex, how often do you grease the u-joints and was the drive shaft rebuilt with a new centering ball or did you buy an new one with it?

It is a 1999 with 131000. It is a new driveshaft. I do not know the condition of the rear rotoflex.

It is a new driveshaft and all joints are greased. When I drive without the front shaft there were no vibrations at all.

Why did you install a new front propshaft?
Were you having problems, or was it a preventative measure?
Is is really new? Or just new rebuilt?
Is it an OE propshaft or aftermarket?

I installed it because the previous one broke. Thank goodness I was driving down my street at 10 miles an hour or else I can imagine the damage to the vehicle. It was an aftermarket driveshaft that is/was brand new.

I bought it on ebay from a company that makes drive shafts. It only cost $250 which may be the problem.

It's possible that the front output housing bearing is worn considering that the OE shaft broke. The shaft was likely vibrating some before it broke, whether you noticed it or not, and could have stresses the output bearing.
Is it a local driveline shop that's checked the new one for balance? Might be worth taking it to another one.
