magnet, or flip the truck upside down and hope it falls out..

Maybe a vacuum cleaner with a small nozzle?? Just an idea.. put a nylon stocking over the end (and let it go inside a bit to catch the part)

got it with a tiny magnet on the end of a wire. re-assembling now but still trying to get the passenger side VC off for re-gasket. haven't been able to get the SAI assembly off of the head. no crows foot wrenches.

Yay! Congrats.

Are you taking about the SAI plugs that look Ike big nuts where they go in the heads? If so I just used a Crescent wrench on mine and they came right out. Once started, they turn freely (well, mine did anyway).

yes. for as rust and corrosion-free as mine appeared, I had to hold the backing nut to break it loose. I guess they were just tightened up good. someone had been in there once before to do the plugs and wires. I didn't put them back on that tight

Ah. Well at least you got them off. I pulled mine from the spare engine and welded them (the open compression nuts) shut, then removed all of the SAI stuff... but I have non SAI computers.

My welding skills are limited to burning a hole where I don't want one, and using so much rod that I have globs of if... so it fit my skillset.
