preasure test your cooling system and try to locating the source of the leak before putting wrench one to it.

After getting 2 different opinons about this "Possible" issue with my truck I am pretty sure that I am dealing with a slipped sleeve/dropped liner.

I love my truck and really want to keep it but I am looking for any advice that you guys might have on how I should proceed. Also, would definatley be taking this to a shop and I am getting all kinds of estimates. I dont think I would consider doing the repair without using the tophat liners. Any thoughts, about anything regarding price, repair, good shop (I am in CT) or anything at all?
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Paul

Buy new short block from the UK, it will be cheaper than top hatting your's.
To your door brand new under $5,000.

Could you point me in a direction or give me a link or something to explore this option?

I wish I could, several others on the forum have done it, I think it is Turner Engineering.
It is a Rover parts supplier specializing in engines.
I thought I had bookmarked it for later use but I cant find it.

Ok, So I wanted to post a follow up to this thread that I first posted a few months ago;
As of today my Disco is back on the road after a new engine. It was a painful and expensive process.
This was my old block

and this is my new long block with top hat liners and a hi performance cam.

Now that I am back on the road I am sure I will be back on the forums with more questions considering I am still working on doing all of the things on Mikes checklist.
Next step is to replace my driveshaft (which should be a walk in the park compared to the engine).

By the way, thank you Mike for your advice and talking to me through a few tough times.

I got the long block from Great Plains Rovers. It wasnt quick but it has a 3 year warranty and a upgraded cam for about 10 extra HP.

Where you able to confirm what the problem was in your old block?
