I feel like I'm going crazy but I remember seeing a post or photo of a dual battery tray built from a modified stock battery box. My work computer is weird and I can't see some images so it's possible I've over looked it in my searching.
Could someone link me to the thread with that photo/info or tell I'm crazy and have to start from scratch on tray?
this is the one I was thinking of. I cut most of my box up tonight, will need some more trimming but I think there might be space where the jack was to put the blue sea ACR and switch/combiner bit. I impulse bought a ballistic fab dual battery box that is a beautiful piece but I don't think I have time to make it fit as it needs a good amount of work to make work. I leave Saturday morning on a 10 day trip so speed is the name of my game right now.
Sent this on the wrong thread the other day; You get er done? I fabbed one from scratch pretty easily & needed all the space the stock box consumed. Lmk if I can help -

Got her done. Didn't take many photos but was able to use the factory box and for the sake of time used some scrap wood to support the front of the batteries and bolted them to the box. Just have a simple aluminum bar across the middle over both batteries with the ACR mounted to it as the main securing point. The fit is super tight so zero side to side movement possible. I will go back and redo some of the wiring as I want to upgrade my switch controller to something that can be controlled via my phone and hooked to the house battery to be powered full time. Would be very nice to be able to use my lights on the rack for middle of the night bathroom trips plus just evenings in camp. I'll find some photos and post them but this was as rushed a job (I stole the battery from the RRC just to avoid a trip to the store for example lol) I think I've ever done but it's working flawlessly and we are on day 4 of wheeling/camping in the San Juans.
