Default Dummy guide to tracing o2 wires

My front o2's are two weeks old and despite the fact that I have replaced the wiring harness (Ive had alot of problems, but I am near the end), they show zero voltage and activity. I have cleaned and greased the connectors on all 4. They are Bosch, and I bought them as a set. The rear ones fluctuate normally. The front ones have not worked with either wiring harness. This is keeping my fuel system in an open state and hurting economy and my feelings.

I freely admit that the Rave is, to me, generally, like reading the Chinese version of instructions to assemble a washing machine. I have a RAVE printed out and in a notebook, and have used it for some big things (like HG replacement) but for a non mechanic it seems to skip alot of steps and details.

Can someone please give me a dummy guide how to trace the wiring, where it ends up, and what to look for, so I can find out why they are not getting power and restore power to them? The codes are p0130 and p0150. Feel free to begin "dear dummy," as I accept my limitations in this area and, as you see, am not shy about them.

Thanks,

Charlie V

Here you go buddy. O2 info. such as wire color and pin location. O2 sensor info..pdf

The O2 sensors connect to the ECM. ECM info ECM info.pdf
The ECM has I believe 4 connectors. The O2 sensors are on connector 2 (C635). I attached a PDF for the ECM to help you find the correct connector and pins. Page 2 of the ECM info above has all of the information for connector C635. You should be able to figure it out. I will say that you should check fuse 2 under the hood, because that's where they get power.

Let me know if you have more questions. My wife has the Rover today, but if you can't figure it out I will take some picture tonight when she gets home.

DiscoMike was kind enough to call me just based on my post here. He said tracing the wires is no picnic, to say the least. Not having my front O2s is not pleasant.

Still working on it.

Were you able to find the correct connector and pins at the ECM? Check #2 fuse under the hood (and all the fuses while you are there), more then likely it's not the problem but is a quick and easy test. If all is good then move on.

1) Unplug front O2 sensors

2) turn key to POS II

3) Check orange plug for power.

(2 out of 4 pins in the plug should have power.)

If you don't have power then we will move on to the ECM connector 2 (C0635) and check the pins there for power.

The connectors showed power. That's o2s. I got two new ones today and they work swimmingly. Thanks for the help, folks! Yet again this forum proved to be the answer.

Best,

Charlie V
