Easy straightforward way to add transmission fluid?

D1's have always had a Dipstick & the transmission pan is 100% bolt on compatible with a D2. I always check the D1's I find at the junk yards, but they stab the pans vs removing a drain plug most of the time..... Plus it's a PITA to drop on a D1 due to the rather large cross member.

I scoured eBay last night trying to find a d1 pan and dipstick but no luck. The pull a parts around me have usually crushed the pans underneath from the way they lift them. I guess I'll have to keep searching. Would be nice to be able to check it without having to go underneath

I guess thats a common thing for Pull A Part to do. I've noticed the D1 & D2 tranny pans were beat all to hell at the 3 PAP stores we have here in the local Atlanta area.

D1 getting crushed = pretty hard to do with the massive crossmember in place. All I've seen were just stabbed in order for the fluid to be drained vs take 5 minutes and just remove the drain plug.... D2 pan is very easy to damage vs a D1.
