This is a thread for all the persons who have seen the inexpensive SAI pump on ebay and thought..."I wonder if that pump would be more quiet than my SAI pump. Mine is about 20 years old and very loud for the first 60 seconds driving it for the first time each day." It's only $55 so why not give it a try and see if it is quieter than the stock version.

Well, it is not. Nothing wrong with the ebay SAI pump, build quality seems same as the stock version but even with the new bushings it comes with there is no significant different on it being quieter.

Hope this helps someone who was thinking about buying it with the hopes it was not as loud as the stock one.

 

I quieted mine down by removing it from the bracket and suspending using cable ties. The cable ties are unable to transmit vibration to the body and are therefore quieter. Easily reversable if you don't like it.
