Default ECM to BCU re-sync

I have a 2003 LR D2. The vehicle will start up but immediately stall. After running through the typical round of diagnostic tests (replace CPS, clean MAF, vehicle runs on starter fluid, fuel pump pressure constant and over 50psi), I found the section in the rave that state that an out of sync ECM to BCU will cause the exact symptoms I am getting.

Sooooo. Since I have a second 2003 D2 that I drive as well and do not relish the 85 mile tow to the dealer nor the service charge I'd be looking at for a couple minutes of their time, I have decided to get a LR specific scantool to fix this and head off additional future visits to the dealer.

My question is whether anyone has had experience with the Hawkeye diagnostic tool and resyncing the ECM to the BCU. The folks at Atlantic British are confident that it has the capability to do it. But the users manual I downloaded does not show that function for the D2. I'd like to confirm either way from someone who has one prior to shelling out $500 for one.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer on this.

Buy the nanocom.

I had a hawkeye and it most certainly would NOT do this task. Unless this feature has been added in the latest upgrade. When I installed the latest software I no longer had a D2 so I couldn't verify what features for D2 were added with the Version 6 code.

blackbox solutions is having a Christmas sale right now and I'm certain their product has the feature.

Thanks jafir. I was thinking the sales rep at Atlan Brit might have been promising a bit too much (working on his Christmas sales bonus I'm sure). I'll check out the nanocom then.

Checked site. No mention of the nanocom being able to resync the ECM to the BCU on the D2. Anyone have a nanocom that has done this on their D2?

Dusty. Are you using it on a D2? Can you confirm there is a menu option to resync the ECM to the BCU? I'd love to get in on the holiday sale but only if it does what I need.

Thanks

I've used the nanocom for D2, and have done the resync.

I believe there is a simulator on their website. Not sure if it works for the older stuff though. Worth a look.

My research says it does. But jafir has first hand knowledge. I am waiting patiently for the Santa truck to deliver mine.
