It's cool that these guys are at least on the correct side of the pond, but still....why the hell isn't there an aftermarket OBDII interface for the Rover Bosche computer?

I didn't get a chance to go to the Speed Tuning shop while in DC. But I did talk to the guy on the phone who told me me that he's been in business for over 20 years. I asked him if he hacks the ECU and he sternly said no that they carefully reprogram the ECU. He seemed very anxious to meet me and for me to stop by with my Disco but I told him we flew into D.C. and my Disco was back in Atlanta.

@ FND... did you try out Speed tuning for the ECU reprogram?
I've been in contact with them for the past couple of months talking about my 2001 LR Disco 2 and my wife's 2011 BMW X5 (E70) 35d. I think I am going to do both. I'm heading back to DC during the Labor day weekend and I'm taking my ECU for them to do the reprogram.
I'm trying to talk wifey into driving "Myrtle" 10 hours from Atlanta to DC but she doesn't trust Myrtle on that long of a trip.

I haven't had the chance (or wife's approval) to send mine off yet. Let me know how it goes though. I'm extremely interested in what kind of gains and fuel economy it gets

Just a follow up from 2 years ago...
I contacted SpeedTuning USA again to see if they still do the upgrades for the Discovery 2's V8 Bosch ECU.
They do and this is their response:

Hello Mike,
Yes we can do your Land Rover Discovery 4.0 V8 2001. Process would be to send
in your ECU and we normally turn it around the same day. We have different
stages we could do, do you mind giving us a call and we give you all the
options and answer all your questions over the phone? I would suggest a Stage 2
since it is a NA tuning application, price $375, you could get up to plus
15-20HP depending of your supporting mods.

Best regards,
Oliver

I’d be interested, as I do like the extra pep my 04 has vs the 99 & 02 with the 4.0, but I can’t justify $375.00 on tuning right now.

I was going to do this and considered doing a pre and post dyno just to get an idea of the gains but, after some thought if I really want to focus on power gains for Tricky Dick I should just do the LS swap
