electric fans....anyone running these, particular ones?
Now that I have it on I am a little vexed about the temperature. Highway temperature is higher but I don't need the fan at highway speed, so I end up setting it for a city temp, which is much lower, and it runs the whole time I am highway driving.
where is your temp sensor? mine is in the upper radiator hose. what temp is it shutting off? another option is on off switch. its not as efficient, but you could do 195on....185off. I have one mounted, but it is a "just in case my controller fails" back up
Once I get this dialed in I never, ever want to watch the digital temperature again.
Sitting still I turned the dial to activate the fan at 200 degrees, and it does that reliably. But that keeps it on throughout highway driving, I assume. I guess I need to hook up the light.
The land rover temp gauge is useless. Never budges. Ridiculous.
When I stopped in the driveway with fan on it was amazing how quickly the temp dropped to 195. Like 120 seconds. The fan works, at least at stop.
Did you connect the master switch you mentioned to the yellow wire (switched power supply) or the power to the fan itself? You mentioned that it is backup for the controller so I assume it goes straight to the fan. If I put a switch on the yellow wire I could turn the fan off on the highway but that seems like alot of trouble and I will almost SURELY forget to turn it back on.

That little controller that came with mine is variable
So it starts at slower speeds and works it way up to full speed. I have it kicking on at 185 and it is full on at 192 ish

Ah, i guess my controller is not variable... that stinks. So your truck doesn't go above 192 on the highway? I must have some big issue. [SIGH LOUDLY]
