Installed a new IAC that I picked up at Advance. Still didnt do this trick. WOnt hold an idle...I srpayed engine starting fluid several times and each time it cranked and came to life at ab 2 to 3k rpm but then dies, didnt hold an idle. any thoughts.

Downloading the RAVE CD now. when it finishes downloading do i open it with the alcohol 120 program?

Thanks so much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Which IAC did you use?
Did you clean the port that the plunger goes into?

yes sir, with carbuerator cleaner. what length should i adjust the IAC to, the box from Advance said 1 1/8th inches. it was a GP Soreson 21774 779-10153. got the truck to hit ab 2k rpm with engine starter but wud only do that when engine starter was sprayed in intake. wudnt idle on its own.

Start it and hold your foot on the gas pedal, as long as you keep the RPM above 550 it will run. No need to use starting fluid.

As for how to adjust the steeper motor, I have no idea.

Do you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail? Just press the schrader valve on the fuel rail, fuel should shoot out at you.
Do you hear the fuel pump kicking in?

It is on the passenger side, it should have what looks like a tire valve cover on it.
