Can you pop the cover off the shifter base and push the release button?

Yeah pull the shifter **** straight up, then gently raise up the shifter bezel, then you’ll see the interlock solenoid, push the little button back and shift it into whatever gear u need. You can leave the shifter bezel off and drive it, just put the **** on and you’ll be set.

Also make sure all those burnt wires are separated then check the brake light fuse. Pretty if that fuse popped it will give those symptoms

It's been awhile but I don't think you need to pull the **** off. Pull the bezel off and it's behind the shift lever .feel around. It's just a little button .

Button on the left, solenoid on the right. You can just remove the solenoid.

That worked perfectly I just have to figure out where to even start with this wiring , after I drive an hour with no brake lights hazards or turn signals

A good reminder to always carry basic tools and spare fuses for situations like this
