Default engine bogging down under accelleration

OK, here's the deal: My engine bogs down under acceleration. I was driving on some country roads today here in Iowa and I hit a pretty good sized bump. I'm pretty sure I caught some air. Now the engine bogs down under acceleration. There was some snow in the air box. I cleaned that out, thinking the engine wasn't getting enough air. I'm thinking fuel. It isn't sputtering, just bogging down. Sometime the service engine light will flash at me repeatedly. I haven't run the codes yet. Any ideas so far? 2001 LR Discovery, 4.0 v8

Thanks!

Perhaps your aerobatics included landing hard on the fuel tank and fuel pump assembly. But codes will tell. Flashing engine light is usually not a sign of good things. Drive like granny, post the whole code numbers, not just the text message from the code reader.

From your owner's manual (included in the RAVE download):

If ’Service engine soon’ flashes and/or the
vehicle does not drive normally:
Avoid high speeds and seek immediate
assistance from your Land Rover dealer.

Flashing check engine light is a bad misfire.

My d1 would sometimes bog down after bumps or going through water. Turns out a cat was bad and chunks of it were moving around. Can be caused by whatever makes your check engine light blink.

I would get the codes first nothing but speculation will come without those..Now speaking of speculation... I would have a look at the MAF, you said you cleaned out snow form the air box. did you pinch the connector to MAF, or is the MAF not seated correctly.. . But as I said pure speculation without codes

Brian, in the future, when you have a problem, do your part first, like getting the fault code numbers and post them so we are not left to guess what may be happening.
That being said, go get your codes read at the local part store and get back to us with the numbers ASAP so we can try and help you.
