engine noise
That's mostly it. Insulation too, but people have run these wires without much failing. They are good wires. I think STI and other companies make 8MM wires, but Magnacor makes them for Rovers in a set that will fit exactly. Most Rover owners are fans. I think ajh just pulled a boot off of one of his, but that is the first I have heard of one failing. Be sure to use some dielectric grease when installing them.
You can always go buy a new set of Rover wires from the dealer for $200 plus and they are junk wires.
Your truck, with it's mileage, is way past due for wires, as hard as they are to install, at least put on a set that work better then factory, carry more voltage and have a bullet proof warranty.

well as it turns out it was the alternator bearings that were bad, but on the bright side i found a broken front u-joint and greased every conceivable zerk that i found. that only ran me 215 to have it rebuilt in 2 hours, noe the u-joint seems to be a mystery all its own as the dealer wants 700 for a whole new front drive shaft, not a big fan of that. also went to advanced to slap the OBD2 on it and got code P1590, any thoughts?
BS code. just get it reset.
If you ahve a bad front U-joint, do not drive anywhere. If it comes free, you will lose a transmission. Have it towed to a local driveline shop. Should be under $300. I think you said you had it repaired, but if not, get it done now, and replace with one you can grease...
