Charlie, I completely with you on your theory. It makes a lot of sense. Question when replacing Water Pump. should I replace the Bolts also?

I've had three pumps and i'm still using the original bolts.

Charlie,

What kind of Pump have you used? are there good one Vs bad ones out there? If these pump keeps giving up does it means original pump if not well made?

airtex w/ brass impeller
Land Rover Discovery 2 1999 2004 Water Pump with Gasket New Part STC4378 | eBay

wondering if I need anything else? the British Rover sales similar stuff for $129. but I am not sure if they have the Brass impeller.

I purchased a water pump from AB last year, and it was the Airtex brass impeller pump.

I have an off brand with a metal/galvanized impeller, but I would get the airtex mentioned above.

Airtex stopped making Brass impeller I was told by the people i ordered. They were nice enough to call and inform and wanted to make sure I still want it.
Lets see when I get the WP.
