In Detroit, no, in Grand Rapids, yes.

 

I'd go thru' the ph book.

You'll never convince me Detroit doesn't have some excellent engine shops.

Find a couple, visit unannounced, & ask to see the ***'y area.

The shop may be a pig pen, but the ***'y better be really clean.

I don't know ANY good mechanics that don't enjoy showing their stuff.

Get some input, quotes(in writing with warrantees) & get back to us with questions, maybe we can help with questions you should ask.
