One tip I'll add that I just found out... the Harbor Freight 1 ton hoist is not long enough. From the hydraulic jack to hook is only about 30" @ 1/4 ton. About 40" is needed. So, now I need to get a different hoist.
Also I can only count 12 torque converter bolts total... 6 on the bottom (to get the oil pan off), and 6 on the top half ??
I'm looking to get some advice on pulling my engine - specifically, lift points.
Heads are off, all ancillaries off. My planned method is to use 4 old short head bolts and hook the leveler to those. Pic
Is this a good idea? I feel like there will be a lot of stress on those threads... if so, should I tighten the bolts all the way down or keep them loose / poking out?
Unfortunately I threw away my old intake bolts and only have a new set left... would that have been a better way?
