Pretty common Rover issue and I agree go for a crank sensor, may cost you around $80 in parts and a hour labor.
I have a similar issue with my Disco II, mine will shut off rolling up to a stop or waiting at a red light, then starts up again. Once in a while after turning it off in a parking lot and going into the store and then returning back to the Disco to leave, it will not start. After letting it sit for a bit it will start back up again?????
What do you think about this, the same thing or something else?
