Since the frequency of the knocking sound is clearly at 6.25Hz (= 375rpm = camshaft rotation rpm at idle) I assume it is something around the camshaft/lifters. Wouldn't a slipping liner tapping at 12.5Hz (=750rpm = idle)?

To get a feeling for the frequencies you can use this tool:

how many mikes on your truck ? If it's been ticking for a while and the 180 stat doesn't help than drive it to the ground and buy a new engine. Unless you can figure out it's something else

For miles check my signature. I hope it lasts another 30k miles, which is good for about 5 years. It got new head gaskets, valve cover gaskets and spark wires & plugs recently.

Your temps are still way too high. I use distilled water with 2 bottles of purple ice + the 180 grey T stat and get 183-188 with spikes to 190+ in heat. And that is with a 10 year old crappy radiator. Once I put this brand new high volume 40mm 100% aluminum in with 14 fins inch2 it's going down to 175-180 for sure.

check your oil pressure and report back, if it is low you could have either lifters ticking or even a rod knocking it would sound like a cylinder tic

What oil are you using? Often ticks can correlate with thin or synthetic oils.

In what type of climate do you live? I don't think your setup would work if it's below freezing for 4 months a year, right?

The 180 thermostat is fine in cold climates.

Right, but a mix of just distilled water and purple coolant enhancer?
