Default Engine ticking

Ok so I have been kind of avoiding this one as it will not stop me passing inspection lol.
But after swing this post
https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...s-47767/page3/

and I getting codes for bank 2 lambda and evaporator control issues I am begging to wonder if this is really my issue ?

so after buying it I new it had a tick after it warmed up. Also when going over the vehicle I noticed that the valve covers have been off and looks like head gasket has been done.
i had to do the oil pump
and the pcv mod now I am wondering ??
tick does seem to be on passenger side from what we can tell.
Was thinking it was a possible slip sleeve ?
As no noise when cold until warmed up.
still does it that way btw.
since the pcv mod it does sound lesser on the tick too ?
and definitely not a lifter noise as it doesn’t change with rpms like I have heard in the past with lifters

so wondering do I have a sai issue ?

thanks

@merebel sleeves as I understand it are more of a thud than a tick and not really that common, rockers, lifters bottom end are more likely.

ok so then maybe not liners but it a tick and doesn’t change tempo with acceleration can get it to go away on hard acceleration and deceleration.
but since pcv mod it does seem a lot less noticeable.

Tick when warmed up is likely slipped sleeve. I did have one that was oil pressure related (walked cam bearing - it got a new engine). Check your oil pressure, hot. Cylinders can be pinned to stop the ticking. Some say the tick causes hg damage, I have never seen it. Many have driven them with the tick for years.

Get the code numbers from the scanner - an auto parts store can read them for you. Look them up on google and post the code number with the reason here. Then we can talk about root causes and components you need to replace.

what temps are you running. If it’s over 210-220 they will tick.
