Default Engine to Transmission Bolts - Noob Mistake

Because I am a noob and a dumbass, I did not label which bolts went in which location.

Ok so now that that is out of the way, I have two issues:
  1. I have 12 bolts and I should have 14. What do the other two look like?
  2. What position does each bolt type go into?
Thanks in advance!!!

I just pulled my motor and labeled only SOME of the bolts. I figured I'd check an exploded diagram upon reinstall. Perhaps one can be found?

Why not place all the bolts in the holes(do not tighten) and see which bolts stick out more/less? Or a piece of rod and insert into bolt holes and measure which bolt hole is longer/shorter?

Yeah that is where I am at today, I was hoping that I could find some documentation on these bolts but I have been unable to find anything. Today I will be bolting it up so I will document it and post my results.

Do what no carbs said, use any thin metal piece, even a chunk of metal coat hanger would give you the measurement. Draw a pretty picture on paper, write down (Long, medium, short) etc. I think there was just two lengths in the direction of Tranny towards Engine but I'd have to check.

Also as a simple method, if one bolt hole has more area(from head clamping point to fastener threaded point) it will typically be a longer bolt. Not always but a lot more than so.

You should have four of the shorter ones (in bottom row). Two go in below starter and the other two on drivers side...these four bolts thread into the trans bell-housing (head of bolt on engine side of assembly). Whereas all of the rest go into the engine block (bolt head on trans side of assembly).

Brian.
