Default engine/transmission noise

Just when I think the D2 is OK something else comes along, It started a few weeks ago and was noticeable on deceleration and not under a load, a rattling noise coming from the transmission area. Then I noticed it when sitting still, I can rev the engine and when it goes back to idle it makes the noise. While under the hood it is clearly coming from the transmission area. I have tried to down load the video but it wont take it, if someone is interested in listening to it I can email it to them. Tomorrow I will climb under it and see if I can find anything, wish me luck. Neil

Thanks for the input, today I crawled under and checked the torque converter bolts, all tight! A fellow mechanic pointed out that it sounded liked the exhaust was the culprit and he was right, the L/H cat has come loose on the inside and making a hell of a racket. Now I have a new question. What the best after market catalytic converter ( Y pipe) out there? The price of the OEM part is out of the question. Im just glad its not the trans or xfer case

Cut out your old cats and weld in new universal ones.
