Default Ever seen one of these cold air intakes IRL??

Ran across this in RAVE and it peaked my curiosity, wondering if one of these have ever been seen IRL or fab'd up by someone. My L322 has it's intake in the same spot at the Disco but the L322's intake air temp is almost always within a few degrees of outside air temps, whereas the Disco is almost always >20 degrees warmer.

Pretty sure with it being a "gulf" spec option, US/UK never saw them outside of someone getting their hands on one...I doubt you could order it as an option on the Discos if they weren't going to the "gulf" region.

I feel like with how sensitive these are to heat, the gulf spec should've been standard spec.

I couldn't agree more....unfortunately being built in England where they don't know what "heat" is...was it's downfall.

I have the Saudi grille and my idea to get cooler air is to add a raised air intake but I need to find a sacrificial fender at the junkyard.

I have that part sitting in my garage. The "kit" is part# XA223460. I never installed it because Craddock forgot to ship several small pieces needed for mounting, but then refused to send them to me saying that I must have lost them (I no longer do business wit them). I tried to find the missing pieces online but couldn't. I thought one day I would fabricate the missing pieces via 3d printer.

What I have:
