Exhaust issues...help
So i got the bright idea to cut the front muffler off my 97 disco and replace it with the muffler from my parts rover. Apparently the clamp on the end of the down pipe has bolts that look they are welded in....and the pipe has a flair on the end of it, so that the clamp can not be taken off. And the "new" one now has a hole in it thanks to my lack of patience. So im going to try putting the old one back on...but the clamp that is stuck on there wont allow me to do anything.
So the question is does anyone know how to remove that clamp on the end of the downpipe?
Thanks for the quick response....Tonight, if i can get this fixed i get to drive 4 hours north into the adirondacks to go back to school.

When I did my exhaust the bolts on mine looked like they were welded in also but i just used the torch heated them up and tapped them with a hammer and they come right out. The bell on the end doesnt come of its made onto the pipe the only way to get it off is to cut it off.
go to to HD and buy a torch kit use the yellow cylinder Mapp gas it gets hotter faster than the propane torch does,
get the one with the trigger lighting option SB about 39.00 bux for the kit, you will find many uses for instant hot heat

thats not a bad idea. i ended up drilling out the two bolts...ruined all my dads drill bits, but got the muffler back on. lol but damn did it sounds good coming right out the downpipes!
