Exhaust Leak and 02 Sensor P0161
I recently replaced my y-pipe and all 4 02 sensors. Unfortunately I did not get a tight enough seal on the y-pipe to muffler olive. Since then I've been getting a P0161 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2,
Sensor 2).
The y-pipe is Magnaflow and the 02 Sensors are Bosch. I'm still working on getting the leak fixed and don't want to replace the 02 Sensor until then.
My question is, will an exhaust leak behind the 02 sensor cause it to fail or am I dealing with a factory defect?
