Default extended warranty

Hi, eveyone, this is my first post as I just bought my first land rover,a 2003 discovery with 27,700 miles on it. I absoultly love it,but after reading these forums I am alittle scared about the mantenence. I was never one for extended warraninties, but in this case I think it is a must!!! Can anyone tell about the extended warranties that rover offers? What should I be looking for, how much can I expect to pay? My factory warranty expires march 30th. Thanks for any info...

There are few options when it comes to buying a extended warranty from Rover. The coverage will run from 2 up to I think 5 years and mileage up to 100,000. The cost is high no mater if you buy a Rover policy or an aftermarket warranty. I paid $3100 for mt 7 year 100,000 aftermarket warranty with w 0 ded. Expect pretty much the same price range from Rover, usually with a little less term.
Are they worth it, OH YES. I have already had mine pay for itself with a couple of years and 20,000 miles left to go.
This is not to say Rovers are crazy expensive to repair, no more then any other 4wheelers.
Big the bullet and sleep better at night for the next few years.

Thanks Mike, what is the aftermarket that you bought. Are they more willing to approve repairs than rover????

I also would highly recommend to purchase the extended warranty. The aftermarket warranty I bought for my '03 rover has paid for itself after them paying for ABS modulator, door lock acuator, valve cover gaskets, and some other things I don't remember.

When I bought my warranty, there were only a couple of companys willing to even write a policy on a Rover, The company that has my policy no longer will except them.
Rover is a Good way to go and as long as you don't have an aftermarket part that is causing a problem they will cover it.
