exterior door handle
Hoping someone can help me out with this before I tear the thing apart via RAVE. It opens fine with the inside handle, but will not from the outside. Kinda feels like a spring or something broke away or got loose. Has anyone encountered this? Thanks a ton...As usual!!
There is a rod that connects the exterior handle to the lock actuator. It is possible that this rod popped off the handle or the actuator. If not, I think it would have to be something in the actuator itself.
In order to best access this, you will need to follow the steps in the RAVE to the point of removing the door frame and glass. You could probably get to it without removing these, but you would need to know what to feel for as opposed to being able to see it. With the door frame and glass out, it is very easy to see through the frame/glass opening in the door.

Okay- finally got around to working on the door and it was a very short rod/pin that came loose from the door actuator, but still attached to the exterioir latch.
If you take the panel off and peek back to where the handle is, you will see the 2 inch pin with a slight bend at the end-- this is supposed to attach to the actuator at the green plastic portion--which is better seen if you use the INSIDE latch to have it move back and forth- just use some patience and you can slip it back into the green plastic channel.
Good Luck!
