Default Exterior A pillar

I am trying to get this exterior A pillar on and it is killing me! I tried tonight and cannot get it on? The plastic clips are all good on the part. I did not get new metal clips could this be a factor? Please help! I am going crazy!

From my understanding the trick to putting this back on is to place the clips on the trim first and then line up the clips to the truck frame. Starting from the bottom, slap the plastic trim thus pushing the metal clip on to the frame of the truck.

We have the center cowl replacement coming up and will be doing this shortly.

They are a bit tricky to install or remove. To install them, I loosen the clips a little where they fit to the body and put a dot of silicon on the clip. As previously mentioned, install the clips on the part first and then install it on the vehicle. You have to give them an open hand slap right where the clip is. Hard enough to seat the clip, but not too hard or you will break it. Patience is the key.

The A pillars do not need to come off to remove the windshield cowl just a heads up.

If there is a tip to remove and replace the center cowling without disturbing the A Pillar trim, please share. RAVE is showing the A Pillars needing to be removed to replace the center cowling.

I have not started the project and if I can avoid the A Pillar step I would be most appreciative.

This will sound pretty silly: but how do you install the plastic rivets? I have some from NAPA, but not working as I thought to make them stay in.
