Consider nixing the CD changer altogether and getting a Grom bluetooth module. Allows music and calls from your phone while maintaining the stock radio appearance, but you lose the CD changer.

Mine sticks even with the latches released correctly. I have to pull like crazy to get it out.

This is one of my many projects. Good things take a while. Yes, it comes with touchscreen & navigation. You can install almost any app from the playstore (I use an older Samsung phone, Galaxy S4 to be precise, but other models might fit too). An SDR (software defined radio) will be added too, so I can listen to AM, FM, HAM, NOAA weather and other interesting frequencies. As a start I modified an old Alpine radio (front not painted yet) and added some of the factory dials in order to keep the Land Rover look and feel. The steering wheel buttons will work too.

BT phone feature simply requires an app to be installed.

You could always go extreme and put a 10.1” Android. It is single DIN so it installs super easy. Navigation, Bluetooth, and much more. It pretty much does everything a tablet will do. With the right wiring harness you can install it in about 30 mins.
