No need to get a trouble light. Just wire a resistor and a diode (LED would work) in line. Probably a little cheaper and can be out in a more compact package.
However, that may not create enough draw to hit the threshold for the computer if it's looking for such a thing, unless it is simply looking for a completed circuit. You could, on the other hand, get a 12v hobby motor and stick it in there. That may create enough draw and still take up little little space compared to the big SAI motor.

Yep “some” 03-04’s are non SAI! I’d just get a non SAI ECU & go from there. I’m not 100% certain, but I’ve also heard that a system like the Autologic can make changes to the ECU & if SAI is an option it could be turned off. Just haven’t had a big chance to piddle with the 10k Autologic system to know for sure what it can/can’t do.
