Guys,
Got my fan off.
Have a new Hayden fan clutch in hand.

Searched the tool boxes and can't find the hex size of the hex bolts
holding fan to the fan clutch..

Any sizes come to mind?

Assuming mm

 

May not be metric.

 

Mine were allen bolts.

Yes, I have allen bolts too.
Well, I'll drag the fan assy to the Ace hardware and see if they have an allen socket.

Will probably need an autoparts store.
None of those close to me.

 

Hello All,
Found out the fan clutch bolts to the fan with 6mm hex bolts.
ACE hardware very helpful.

Found a 6mm allen key.
Used a crescent wrench on the end for leverage.

Was able to replace the fan clutch.

Intererestingly, my fan clutch with 100k miles was twice as easy to rotate
cold as was the old fan clutch.

When the rover started, the fan roared!
Never did that before.

So, let's see if the AUX fan will stay off now..
