Default Fan clutch question

Since I've got my Disco 2 back on the road, I've noticed the fan clutch is constantly engaged. So I'm looking at this one from Summit Racing:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HDA-2991/
Anyone here using it? It's a lot cheaper than the one at AB ($230) and this says it will fit my Disco.

That is a severe duty fan clutch, it will run ALL the time.
Go to the tech section on the DI side and read up on fan clutch replacement.

The Chevy fan clutch will work on a D2?

I think that's for 2003-2004. Mine is a 2000 D2. Don't know if it will work....

Not 100% sure the Chevy clutch will work.
But I think it will and here is why.
The DI and DII use the exact same water pump, that means the stud that the fan screws onto on the water pump shaft is the same size.
So it will fit that way.
I do not know if the DI and DII clutch fans are the same total thickness or not.
But if they are then yes, it will work.
To add to that if a guy bought the Chevy fan clutch as well as the Chevy fan they would be a direct bolt up, then screw the whole assembly onto the water pump, total cost would be $100 for both parts.
Compared to $260 for just the LR fan clutch.
SO here is what we need you to do, go buy the parts and see if they work, if not you return them and get your money back.
If they do work then with your pictures and write up you will have saved others a ton of money as well as yourself.

No way in hell I would spend $160 on a used clutch fan, $50 yes, $75 no.

Yes, it will work. I'm running an Imperial heavy duty fan clutch from Advance on my DII. I don't remember the exact part number, but it is listed in the thread over in the DI forum or on the corresponding thread on D-web.

The only thing you need to be concerned about is that the shaft on the heavy duty fan clutch is roughly 1/2" longer than the LR fan clutch, so you might have to tweak the positioning of you fan shroud to give it a little more space. Otherwise it works great.

I don't think the 03/04 fan will work on an eariler D2.

All DII V8's take the same viscous fan clutch.
