180F thermostat temp range is anywhere from 182-215F depending on the conditions, and how your truck is equipped. Don’y worry about idle temps up to 210F, main thing to watch for is a temp that goes back down after say sitting in traffic. If it doesn’t = then investigate.

This is probably the smart thing to do, but I am a bit paranoid, live in the great white north, so I used 180 then 220 grit sandpaper to resurface the bottom of the TBH so create a larger contact surface for the gasket. I have read that you can just use The Right Stuff or Black Permatex to seal it, but I have not tried that first hand.

Best has not steerred me wrong tho.
