Default So I messed up putting my TF 3" lift up front

First let me say, outside of me being a knucklehead (again) this was a pretty easy install. In fact I did it outside with temps right around the freezing mark. When I put the front passenger side spring in I should have unbolted the drive shaft from the yoke. I did eventually but not before I put an nick/crack in the rubber seal that protects the grease in the spline. Outside of that, the U-joints and shaft are in great shape. Is the rubber piece a sellable item or do I have to buy a new drive shaft? I guess I could source and old one and rebuild it as a spare but I would love input here.

If you plan on off roading and flexing with a 3inch lift the support bar under the front drive shaft needs to be removed. You can add spacers, but it’ll just lower it stock height... I remove them from all my lifted D2’s and never have to worry about my front shaft bouncing off of it off road or “if” a front shaft died it has a better chance of dropping to the ground vs slamming directly into that support bar & into your transmission.

You might be able to get the boot at a driveline shop or a junk yard.

funny I was going to remove the crossmember before I separated the driveshaft. I got the first 3 10mm bolts off then rounded the last one because I wasn't paying attention with my air wrench (refer to me calling myself a knucklehead again)

Lucky8 has the rubber, I ordered a driveshaft and it was torn so they sent a replacement.
