yes this will turn on the amp but you will be sending a pre-amplified signal to an amplifier, this will not only cause the volume to be extremely high (and cause clipping or distortion at a low level) but it will also damage the factory amplifier, I cant say for sure if that harness will work because the wiring configuration is for a non amplified system but many cars use the same configuration. I would still suggest the amp integration harness with the line level converter as this will insure the correct wiring and give you the ability to set the low level signal to where it sounds good to you.

now if you decide you want to go with crutchfield that is fine just give them a call and find out who supplies there harnesses and I will get you the exact part number you need.

if they use Metra (the most common) the harness number is 70-1786

PS crutchfield sells the Scosche SLC4 for $20 but I would still suggest checking walmart in store because I believe it is cheaper.

I have a 2000 disco and it's been nothing but problems. I've spent thousands of dollars on it. I've had problems with windows, sun roof, head gaskets, back door lock, clock, then alot of small stuff that has to do with engine that I don't understand. It's not a good investment unless you're truly a rover person. Even though I have so many problems with it , it's worth it to me.

@Zdub if you don't plan on doing simple things like the clock and back door lock on your own then the cost of maintenance will add up.... glad you think it is still worth it after the money you said you have put in.
