Default Filter above the cabin blower?

While doing my audio install, I am going thru everything since I have the glove box out and center console tore apart.

I noticed when I took the glove box out and removed the blower that there is two rectangular panels that move around and have some type of filter material on them. I can't figure out how to get them out, or if they are in fact filters. I'm not talking about the long filter under the cowl.

Are these filters, and if so, how do you replace them?

Also, is there a way to service the blower motor to make it quieter?

I'm not sure about the filter, but you can take the blower out, clean the blades, and oil the motor. Helped me a lot.

Sounds kind of like the flaps that control air recirculation on/off. Haven't had mine apart so I don't know the exact setup on a Disco but most cars use foam covered flaps for that purpose, generally above the blower itself somewhere.

Unsure of the link exact model/year.

Appears the same as these, listed for LR II :
----> 00 2000 Land Rover Range Rover Cabin Air Filter - Air Intake - Beck Arnley, Bosch, Denso, Hastings, Mahle, Mann, NPN - PartsGeek

Will check the shop manual and find out more, got my curiosity going.
