Default Isuzu

Disco Tech North Vancouver BC is selling new Isuzu engines and conversions for $5500 + kit see http://www.disco-tech.ca/engines/. Looks interesting for me as well.
Second story
I spoke to a fellow in North Vancouver with a 95 D1 that imported a used TD5 engine and transmission from UK for a landed cost of $4200, and he rebuilt the engine himself. The total project cost was under $6500. Things had to be sorted out, but he just did it and is now driving long distances. Happy as can be with the TD5.

i have heard of disco tec and that they dont return calls or emails...thats a bad sign.. I also heard they get there kits from the uk company actually doing the conversion kits. They seem to be resellers. It would be intresting to find out though.

CAn you get a contact for the TD5 guy?

Let me know, Thanks Chris

Vandev, have you done any research into the late '60's buick 300cu.in. steel blocks?
(Not the 350's)

My understanding is there's something to it, but I have read anything in a while

luck,greg

Default Mercedes Diesel OM617

The best choices are still the LR 200TDi and 300TDi. Keep it simple, keep it in the family.
This is based on project price and resale value.
However this is a cool project, have fun with it.
Here is a Mercedes Diesel swap OM617 into a Disco that is happening now.
See the web forum projects and technical articles http://www.roverlanders.bc.ca/

It looks like Land Rover is getting a new 4.4 liter V8 diesel. They were going to go to Ford trucks but they will not be allowed in the US. I guess there is just to much profit in oil.

I would like too but i have a DII and it's fat pig...i think it weighs more than my range rover....The International swap is what they do replace LR motors with down south of the border... The isuzu is very strong and also can get bell housing adapters as well as parts as they are plentyfull here as well as no WVO problems. I am open to anything...If i had unlimited funds i would do a cummings....
