Good to know, thanks guys. Guess Ill be shopping for an oil gauge this week... dont want to clutter the interior with all these aftermarket gauges so like with the Ultragauge, Ill have to make it fit in factory style.

Any recommendations for specific units? Pictures would be good to. Ill also take a look in the search area.

Look for mounting pods. People have installed them vertical on left side of driver area, or horizontal across the dash above the radio. You can easily fit in three gauges.

Im thinking about installing it up in the overhead console just below the sunroof controls. There is a blank piece of plastic there, probably where the homelink **** would be if equipped. Anybody try installing it there before?

Finally getting up to date with all the needed service on my Disco so I'm feeling confident. Got the driveshafts serviced/replaced, tie rod ends replaced. Ordered the 180 thermastat and Ultraguage is on its way. New suspension. Most of the fluids have been changed and breaks will be 150% once I get back home. AND just ordered a **** load of new tools to replace my old crappy sets. So its looking pretty good so far and just in time for the upcoming New England winter.... none of this wold have been possible had it not been for this awesome work opportunity I found up here in Alaska!

Hope the rest of you guys are doing well, and servicing is getting up to date and ready for the winter. Ill be returning home November 1st - cant wait! Zack I still plan on stopping by RoversNorth for a visit so let the guys know and dont forget to bring your badass camera!!!!

Stay safe everyone!
Sounds good man. I would also recommend that you put the Ultraguage on the dash somewhere. You need to be able to safely monitor it without taking your eyes off the road. Make sure you set the oil miles correctly because if you don't it will beep every time you turn the car on because it will think you never changed your oil lol.

There is comfort in knowing that your truck is running in the optimum 188-197 range.

Here are a couple of shots of my combo. Though I can't recommend this GlowShift MaxTow. Even on the dimmest headlight setting, it's too bright.

G150driver,

Where do you have your oil pressure gauge mounted on the engine? In the oil cooler port? Other than the bright glow of the gauge, how do you like it?

Yes, the sender is screwed in at the oil cooler port, since it is unused on the '03/04's. I can't remember all the exact details of the thread adaptor to make it all screw together, but it's detailed here:

I like the gauge, as the aesthetic is fairly consistent with the Discovery's gauges. The LED backlight also has a very bright blink to it if the oil pressure drops to zero. That's cool. But I don't think I can deal with the brightness. No rush to find something better, but I'll be looking.

GlowShift | Black 7 Color Oil Pressure Gauge with Electronic Pressure Sensor

This is the one I ordered and its definitely not as bright as that one. And I dont even have the dimmer wire connected. Although I think I will, because it can be distracting at night.
I also got this gauge pod, which I believe came with a visor for the pod. Or I may be wrong, but I dont remember ordering it separately.

Universal Single Gauge Swivel Pod

I went with glowshift because it's a good gauge that comes with a sender for a good price. A lot of others dont come with senders. And I find a lot of no name ebay stuff to be questionable.

Anyone know how to go about installing a glowshift oil pressure guage (or any other guage you might suggest instead) on an '02-D2? The oil cooler port is used on the '99-'02 models so I can't use the factory port. What about using these sandwich adapters: Oil Filter Sandwich Adapters Anyone know how well these adapters perform on a D2 if installed properly?

You can Create a sort of splitter so you can share the port used by the trucks oil pressure switch. There is a write up somewhere on here for doing that. Prob be cheaper than the sandwich adapter, but the adapter is an easy way to go for sure.
