Default Flex Coupler...

While my truck was on the lift getting an oil change, I took a tour of my suspension and undercarraige. Other than some little leaks here or there things looked good. Until I saw my flex coupler. Me nor the mechs new what it was and I had to come home and find it on my RAVE manual. The flex coupler is all kinds of chewed up. I ordered a new one to be here this week. I've got a trip this weekend. Is it a big deal replacing this? I've never done drive train work before...

Easy job, just make sure you use new hardware nuts, bolts.
If you can not get the drive line to line up put the tran'y in neural to
line it up.

15 minute job with a socket wrench and an open end wrench. So your mechanic didn't know what a roto flex is, the is strange cause many vehicles come with one. Have you been greasing your u-joints, if not this would be a good time to do those also.

Negative on the U-joints. Any suggestion for grease? I asked the oil change place if they normally grease them and they said no. They grease other areas of the front suspension but said that my truck didn't have the grease fittings. I don't know that they know what the hell they're talking about... I checked and the U-joints of all the prop shafts have grease fittings so I'll do that right away.

Do yourself a favor and don't use those idiots again, God are they DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!
You always grease the u-joint at least once a year or watch them fail from lack of service.

Could someone please give me some quick tips on removing the rear diff side of the rear prop shaft. I'm replacing this flex coupler and I've not done any drive train work before. Are these bolts torqued? If so, to what? Thanks

That is not a prop shaft, it is a drive shaft, the prop shafts are your axles.
