Default Universal joint worn at Coupler

99 Disco II 137,000 took her in for oxygen sensors (at the dealer)and found out that Ive got a u-joint about to cut loose.
If I remove the Front drive shaft, will my truck be okay to drive for awhile whileI have new u-joints pressed into the shaft?

Why are you using the dealer, you coould have installed those $59 02 sensors at home and saved big time.
As for the drive shaft, if you are ready to quit driving, and you should till the drive shaft issue is resolved, you can buy a new shaft from Tom Woods for around $380, rebuild your current one for around $200 or pay the dealer nearly $1000, what do you want to do?
Yes, if you engage the CDL on the t/case, you can drive on the rear drive shaft only.
What ever you do don't continue to drive it or you will loose your tranny when the shaft fails.

I went thru the dealer bc I have no garage available, and my tools are for Structural steel work, Spud wrenches and Bull pins... not exactly mechanic's tools...
I am aware that I should not be driving the vehicle. I would like to avoid going thru the Dealer on this drive shaft, so A rebuild for around $200 sounds a lot better. My question is, with the new shaft from tom woods does that have the universal joints in it?
I would like to replace all 3 in front when i get that shaft out.

If you need some help, PM me your tele number and I'll call you.
