Thanks for the update, The next chance I get I will go back to the stock setup and delete the E Fan. Just to be clear, for cooling purposes, the E Fan works exactly the same as stock in my setup...

You've discovered my main problem with an electric fan... When the alternator fails you have all the load of the fan on the battery which draws it down very quickly compared to stock. If your alternator failed off grid you would be stuck with no way out.

My alternator failed while driving on the freeway. The battery lasted about 20 minutes. Obviously you can't just turn off the fan to decrease the load and extend your ability to get back to civilization.

My experience mirrors yours. I am disappointed, as I spent time and money on the install, but that is OK. You live and you learn.

I didn't notice any change in gas mileage or temp, and those were my main goals.

And, get the electric fan wet and it dies.
They are no good off road for that reason.
I have seen 2 non factory e-fans fail 4wheelin(not D2's), and there they sat, overheated.
