I ordered a Pontiac 2005 fan with 23k on it. Should be here next week.

Great project. I am anxiously following your progress here. I would like to do something and have mine cooling more efficiently as well. Harbor Freight sells these radiator-hose vice grips that I bought so that I can swap hoses, thermostat, radiators without constantly having to drain/refill/bleed the coolant.

See big fan sale on the horizon once you find the one that works on your D2.

Yep, anyone want to buy a fan that won't work?

I do have high hopes for the Pontiac shroud with the two fans. It is 27" of fan vs. the 15" that I did have. I am also going to try and put another fan in front of the A/C Condenser if I can relocate the A/C Drier. After seeing that the RR has two 12"'s up front I think it is probably the right thing to do.

Well, get your popcorn. The plot thickens.

I put the viscous fan clutch back on the truck, and it is still going above 210. It got to 215 and I put on the heater, but it is acting the same as it had with the electric fan,

The coolant level is consistent and normal. When the A/C is off the temperature is fine. There is no coolant in the oil.

I have the 180 degree thermostat is it possible that it is bad? Has anyone had a bad 180 genuine thermostat?

The Nissen's Radiator is only 7 months old. The pump has less than 20k on it and was installed at Turner, and prior to the new readiator my temps were 200-204 with the 190 degree thermostat.

Maybe I will test with the 190. It should be wide open where it needs to be.

When I turn the car off there is a hiss behind the temperature controls/dash.

The A/C Pressure checks out at 35 psi.

Could I have the dreaded waterfall and heater air bubble? Would that cause overheating?

The sound is definitely more like a hiss of loss of pressure than it is a waterfall or water falling.

Probably ac pressures settling in the evaporator. That's what ac is basically. A controlled pressure loss .....rebuild/repeat.

Maybe it's time for a compression/leak down test?

It isn't working as well as it has, I will have it checked.

The fan seems to be in good working order, the coolant is full, it is holding pressure, the oil is not milky nor does the coolant have any signs of oil.

The heater works fine, and I have no signs of any air in the system as far as I can tell.

It's getting hot when the A/C is on, and other wise is just fine. Could a bad condenser or poor pressure in the A/C system cause it to overheat?
