Flipped the Lady in Red...
Brian.
Just had basic insurance on it, not full coverage. I just got back from the junkyard it got towed to and she's getting scrapped. The engine was just rebuilt 33k miles ago by the previous owner.
Yeah, l'm getting the impression it's to late to get in on the act...he's probably already signed over the title, to off-set the towing bill (which is par for the course). It will probably be a process now, since the towing company will probably auction it off to a scrap yard. What most folks don't understand is...if during the auction...the towing company doesn't get enough to cover the tow bill...the owner is responsible for the rest. They conveniently fail to mention this to the owner, or say..."we'll auction it (like they are doing you a favor) and 'hopefully' that will cover the tow bill". But, when it doesn't...surprise, surprise...you get a letter in the mail for the rest...and normally...there is an added cost of storage (for the time between actual tow and auction). It's become quite the racket. Kid at work just got tagged for nine hundred dollars...on a $80.00 original tow job.

Sorry to hear about the truck, especially since the engine was good. Looks like the undercarriage was pretty good too. Towing information from the guys is good info. Always a good idea to keep AAA membership if you drive a LR for the towing coverage. Time to start looking for a good southern truck.
