Default MAF Plug

When I did my HG’s I cleaned my MAF plug with contact cleaner. Since, I have been experiencing stalling at idle and crank but no start remedied by fiddling with the MAF plug.

Is there a fix for the plug? New pin insert or similar? Or should I reclean and see how it goes?

this is not a land Rover or has the same MAF connection but you can understand how to check for voltage...

The MAF is new, so I did not think of checking it, but I might as well. I am going to try and take apart and inspect the plug too.

Thanks Juke.

I took apart the plug a bit, cleaned it out with electronics cleaner, then lightly lined the MAF pins with silicone lubricant.

We’ll see if any issues recur.

Had a couple stalls and a no start. Going to swap in another MAF. See if it continues.

New(old) MAF in. No issues so far on short test drive.

I am wondering if during my HG saga I fouled my MAF somehow. Going to inspect.

Had a stall on a short test drive, it started right up, after stall.

I have had it not restart until the MAF and plug are fiddled with, but it has only stalled in drive.

i can’t imagine the no start, then replugging in the MAF is a coincidence, on the stall that the truck would not restart right away, taking off the MAF and reinstall got it to restart.

the stalling, no start has been happening for. A couple weeks, so far re-plugging in the MAF works.

The CPS is less than 6 months old, had it off, cleaned and reinstalled during hard gasket job last month.

the intake is tight, and vacuum lines are all attached appear in good knick.

could it be random, and a bad gas cap? Or other vacuum leak?

Can I start it without the MAF plugged in?

Is there a source for a new MAF sensor plug?

Unplug the MAF and leave it unplugged. The car will default to a baseline running condition and operate. Use it like that and see if stalling still happens to eliminate the MAF and wiring from diag

Thanks Llama. In a wedding today, but will test drive tomorrow. Being in Chicago it is tough, because there are really no good places to stall, and some downright terrible ones.

I listened to the engine compartment.

1. Fan Belt needs changing, have one on order.

2. The Purge Valve is really noisy. Is that normal?

I've got her warmed up, and am going to see if I can get a stall without the MAF plugged in.

Does this pic of the MAF plug look normal? Some pins seem distorted to me, but wiggling it does not cause a stall.
