Fog light breather tube redo: a how to
Background: I’m installing new (used)fog light modules in my stock bumper but only one of the breather tubes is present. So here’s how I replaced them with COTS pneumatic components available at Home Depot.
1) Remove the stock rubber tube from the fog light to reveal the port. There are 2 of them per light, which seems excessive to me.
2) Drill out the port with a .250 drill bit.
3) Get the 1/4x1/4 plug in elbow from your local hardware store.
4) Apply the adhesive of your choice and insert the elbow in to the post. The elbow won’t turn after the adhesive cures, so make sure you have it in the way you want.
5) You can now push in 1/4” tubing and connect it to push to connect fittings as you needed to get the outlet port to wherever you want to rout it.
That’s it!
