Default Foxwell NT530 Vin

Anyone have the NT530? I got mine and tried to use the smart vin but it says failed to get vin from instrument cluster enter manually. When I enter it manually it says invalid vin. I can go to manual selection and do most things that I need except I want to do the power bleed and I get vin euros at the bottom instead of buttons to proceed with bleeding. I will take a picture if anyone wants but don't think that will do much good. I've tried different versions of the software with no go. I'm wondering if it is something on their end or with my diso computer or obd cable or something

The smart vin option on my Foxwell NT510 has never worked for my 2001 Disco 2.
But you can still use it on a Discovery 2. There should be an option to select Land Rover > Model: Discovery > Model Menu: 1999-2004 > Control Unit.

That’s how I have been using it but after I manually select vehicle then go to ABS -> Special Functions -> brake bleeding -> power bleed it has invalid vin at the bottom. I just did it the old manual way after all but still would have been nice.

Have you replaced your SLABS unit lately? I'm only guessing (?) that the VIN error is due to the VIN stored on your SLABS unit is different than your actual VIN number.
You can check and change the VIN on the SLABS unit with the Foxwell.

I haven’t done anything with the unit but thought that it was a possibility the previous owner did and checked it and they match my dash vin in both the engine ecu and slabs ecu screen. On some website I typed in my vin and it said it was wrong as well witch threw me off but checked another and it came up right. My only thoughts is some glitch in the foxwell software between porting it to the nt530 from the nt520

I have the exact same issue. Haven’t tried confirming the VIN on the ECUs using the Foxwell yet, but I expect the same results. I’m going to contact the seller, and if they don’t have an easy fix it’s going back.

Try submitting an online customer support ticket... http://www.foxwelltech.com/support/ticket/
Back in 2017, I sent in a trouble ticket about my NT510 and I received a response from Foxwell within 3 days.

With my NT510 I haven't had any problems dealing with my Disco 2's VIN. In saying that, I did have problems using it when manually entering my wife's 2011 BMW X5 (E70) 35D VIN and the Foxwell didn't accept the VIN. I had to use the NT510's Smart VIN function to identify her BMW which was quicker and worked well.
weird...

Im also having the same issue with my nt530. Dis you have any luck resolving? I've contacted foxwell and the seller with no luck. Thinking of finding an older nt520 and returning this one.

I had no luck and ended up returning it. I verified the VIN on the ECU, so it had to be a software issue. I tried updating it from the Foxwell website, which is confusing and not at all secure. When that didn’t work I contacted the seller. They said they would follow up with Foxwell, but that was the last I heard from them.

Default Can you Change VIN# & What is SLABS Unit

Hello Can you actually Chnage the VIN Number on the Disco 2 computer using the NT530? I have an out of state salvage title Disco that i just don't want to bother getting the DMV to inspect & approve and get my Tags. I have another Disco same year that has a frame issue...
Could I input this VIN number and change the dash tag? And what does SLABS mean as mentioned in above comments?
